9 Days Adventure Uganda Safari

This 9 Days Uganda Adventure Safari will take you to some of the best places to visit during a Uganda Adventure safari. Firstly, the safari will first take you to Murchison Falls National Park which is the largest in Uganda. The most electrifying sight of its type in East Africa are the falls as the Nile squeezes through an 8m wide gorge and plunges with a thunderous roar into the “Devils cauldron”. The safari will also take you to Kidepo Valley National Park, blessed with plenty of wildlife not found in any other parks like cheetahs and ostriches. You will later proceed to Kapchorwa district at Sipi falls where you will be amazed with a hike at the 3 water falls flowing from different directions. You will conclude your safari with Jinja City where you will visit the Source of the Nile while having a boat cruise at the Victoria Nile.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park-Top of the falls-Evening game drive

After your morning breakfast, you will be picked by your driver, thereafter start your journey to the magnificent Murchison Falls National Park. This is generally Uganda’s largest national park with lots of natural wonders. As you enter the park, you will start with your first activity which is a walk to the top of the falls. Here, you will be able to view the Nile waters as it makes its way through a narrow gorge making a thunderous sound pouring downstream in the Victoria Nile. This place is also good for memorable pictures and taking in the sounds and sights. Therefore, be ready to take as many photos here and videos for memories to take back home. Later you will check in your lodge for lunch, as you prepare for another activity in the afternoon.

In the evening, you will go for a game drive across the savannah, following different tracks in the park. What you will see, sense and feel around cannot be replicated anywhere else in the World. This is Murchison Falls National Park with over 556 bird species, over 144 mammals, over 52 reptiles and 51 amphibian species. Some of the animals here include; lions, elephants, hippos, buffaloes, warthogs, waterbucks, Jackson’s hartebeest, spotted hyenas, giraffes, jackals, etc. On the lucky day, you can even sport leopards and while here also expect to take photos and videos as you enjoy the wildlife and nature. Later you will check in your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning game drive-Afternoon boat cruise

On your second after your morning breakfast, you will be picked by your safari guide and then proceed for a game drive, hoping to catch sight of a numerous amount of wildlife. These include; buffaloes, warthogs, giraffes, Uganda Kobs, waterbucks, lions, elephants, Oribis, Jackson’s hartebeests, spotted hyenas, etc. Afterwards, you will return to your lodge for lunch, relaxation and refreshment as you prepare for the next activity.

Later you will head for an afternoon boat cruise and while on the cruise, you will be able to view different water animals like the crocodiles and hippos. Other animals will also be spotted at the banks of the river as they quench their thirst; like elephants and water bucks. Also expect to see different bird species like the red-throated bee-eaters, kingfishers, shoebill stork and more. The boat ride will take you to the bottom of the Falls and when you reach here you will be able to see clearly the mighty waterfalls. Don’t forget to pack some snacks and drinks to enjoy while on this adventurous 3 hour’s boat cruise. Later, you will head back to your lodge for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Morning game drive- Aruu Falls-Transfer to Kitgum

After your breakfast, you will go for another Game drive in the morning though most of them will be seen in the grasslands feeding such as buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, antelopes. After the game drive, you will set off to Kitgum District, having a stopover at Aruu falls Campsite tucked in Northern Uganda on Gulu-Kitgum highway. Here, you will view the breathtaking falls as they cascade down offering a thrilling adventurous and a never forgettable experience. You will also enjoy a bath under the waterfalls as well as take photos and videos for memories back home. Later you will proceed with your journey to Kitgum for check-in and overnight stay.

Day 4: Morning game drive-Evening game drive

Early in the morning you will head for a morning game drive through the park searching for different animals. Some of these include; lions, leopards, buffalos, cheetahs, ostrich, zebras, and giraffe among others that roam the expanses of this magical park. Later you will return to your lodge for lunch and a power nap as you prepare for another activity. Since this park has got a variety of animals, in the evening you will go for another game drive to look out for animals that you will have missed out during the morning game drive. Later you will check in your lodge for dinner and overnight stay

Day 5: Full day Game drive in Kidepo

After having your early morning game drive, you will have another enjoyable day of game drive looking out for different wildlife in the different sectors of the park. These include; the Narus valley and Kidepo valley since this park has a large population of big game and is the most magnificent and ranks among Africa’s finest wilderness.

Day 6: Transfer to Kotido

Having your breakfast, you will set off to Kotido District where you will have the cultural encounter with the Karamajongs. Arriving late afternoon, you will have lunch and then head to your place of accommodation for check in. In the evening you can decide to visit the town where you can also buy some souvenirs like the Karamajong wrappers or you can decide to rest as you prepare for the next days’ activity.

Day 7: Karamajong Cultural Experience-Transfer to Moroto

Having breakfast, you will head straight to Nakaperemuru village for an insight into the karamojong culture. This is basically one of the most unique and preserved cultures in Uganda; starting from their manyattas, cultural practices and dances. Feel free to participate in the traditional dances and their daily activities. Also feel free to buy some souvenirs, take photos and videos with these interesting people to take back home for remembrance. Later, you will proceed to Moroto for lunch and later check in direct to your accommodation for an overnight stay.

Day 8: Transfer to Kapchorwa-Hiking Sipi Falls  

After your delicious morning breakfast, you will transfer to Kapchorwa where you will go for hiking to the Sipi falls. While here, you will also enjoy the views of the beautiful scenery of Mt. Elgon and the low land plains. A series of the three waterfalls is formed by the Sipi River as it cascades downhill from the upper slopes of Mount Elgon into the Kyoga Basin. Later you will head to Mbale town for lunch, check in your accommodation for an overnight stay.

Day 9: Transfer to Jinja-Visit the Source of the Nile-Transfer back to Entebbe  

After breakfast, you will start your journey to Jinja, have lunch then head straight for a boat ride to the Source of the Nile. This is generally where the Nile starts its journey into Mediterranean Sea traversing various countries along the way. When you take a boat ride to the source of the Nile, it is one of the best experiences ever. While here, you will get addressed by the beautiful nature views of this magnificent north-flowing river in northeastern Africa. It is also commonly regarded as the longest river in the world running to cover over 6,853 km. Bird lovers are in for a treat since the area is rich with lots of water birds such as cormorants, herons, kingfishers, pelicans, etc. Enjoy plenty of picture moments and videos to take back home for remembrance and also feel free to buy some souvenirs. Later you will start on your journey back to Kampala.
